Students cannot receive this award more than once. Students must be enrolled either full- or part-time during the fall 2017 semester. The Charles Allen Master’s Thesis Award: Open to all graduate students in good standing in the arts, humanities and social sciences who have completed a WSU master’s thesis in the past year and are currently enrolled in a doctoral program at WSU and have at least a 3.5 graduate GPA.
Ann Chittenden Holland Master’s Thesis Award for Graduate Student Excellence: Open to all graduate students in good standing in STEM disciplines who have at least a 3.5 graduate GPA, have completed a WSU master’s thesis in the past year and are currently enrolled in a doctoral program at WSU.Albrecht Scholarship: Open to all doctoral students enrolled either full- or part-time during the fall 2017 semester, in good standing who have successfully passed their preliminary examination, and have at least a 3.5 graduate GPA. Please review the 7 graduate student awards currently being offered by the Graduate School: This is a rare opportunity to acknowledge excellence among the graduate cohort at WSU, and we are well aware that there are many extraordinary graduate students in CAHNRS. The Graduate School recently announced several scholarships and fellowship awards for outstanding graduate students. So please come to the Entomology or Food Science Office to sign up as soon as possible. We need to have a firm number of attendees signed up by noon on Wednesday, August 24th so we have enough food. Please sign up to bring either: salad dessert fruit or veggie platter sandwich buns sliced tomatoes shredded cheese or chips. If you have yard games you would like to play please do bring them. There is a very nice kid’s playground, tennis courts, soccer fields and baseball field. Since we all work in the same building it will be nice to interact with our FSHN Building family. Instead of hamburgers and sausages we will be roasting a whole pig and lamb, courtesy of the Food Science group. Save the date to attend the Welcome Back BBQ on Friday, August 26 th at Kruegel Park from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM.
All afternoon there will be live cooking demos and live music until 5:00 PM. Saturday at 7:30 AM there is a 5 K fun run, Pancake Breakfast, 3-on-3 basketball, softball and mini-golf tournaments at various locations, food and marketplace vendors will be open at 10 AM and the Grade Parade at 11:00 AM.
VIRGINIA TECH ITHENTICATE FREE
Beginning at 5:00 PM on Friday there will be free lentil chili at Reaney Park & Spring Street, a beer and wine garden, and live music from 6:45 – 11:00 PM. This weekend (Aug 19-20 th) is the National Lentil Festival in Pullman.
